Mēs joprojām strādājam pie satura tulkošanas latviešu valodā, un tāpēc tas parādās angļu valodā. Mēs atvainojamies par sagādātajām neērtībām un ceram, ka tulkota versija būs gatava jau drīz.

Japanese Pension Refunds

Japan Pension Refunds icon

Employees in Japan are required to pay a contribution into a pension insurance fund out of their wages. Contributions are usually 11% of your salary, depending on whether you are paying into the Government's National Pension Scheme or your employer has a private social insurance plan. If you're a foreigner working in Japan, you can apply for a pension refund once you leave the country. You are entitled to a pension refund from Japan if:

  • You're not a Japanese citizen
  • You paid national pension insurance for more than six months
  • You left Japan permanently less than two years ago
  • You submitted an address change report to the local Japanese city office and left Japan with a valid re-entry permit.

You can also reclaim the 20% tax charged on the Lump-sum withdraw. What’s more, the pension insurance reimbursement is not subject to withholding income tax. However, when the social insurance office (Japanese Pension Service) reimburses your pension payments, it deducts 20% income tax on the refunded amount. Once you receive your refund, we can claim that tax back for you as well.

The average Japanese Pension Refund is ¥102000

If you’ve worked in Japan, then you’ve had money put into the Government’s National Pension Scheme for you by your employer. The good news is that when you leave Japan, you’re entitled to claim it back. Customers who claim back their Japanese Pension refund payments with us get back an average of ¥102000, so it’s well worth checking how much you could get back.
